II. Idioms అంటే తెలుసు కదా?
A group of words, the meaning of which has no connection with the meaning of any word in the group.
Idiom = కొన్ని మాటల సమూహం - ఆ సమూహానికి ఉండే అర్థానికీ, సమూహంలోని ఏ మాట అర్థానికీ సంబంధం ఉండదు.

 Off Colour = Feeling unwell= ఒంట్లో సరిగా లేకపోవడం.Off కు, Colour కు, ఆరోగ్యం సరిగా లేకపోవడానికీ సంబంధం లేదు కదా.This is one example of an idiom.
Let's now see a few idioms in use. Read the followng conversation:

Vinod: Why doesn't he give up that tough job? It involves night duties and late night shifts.(అంత కష్టమైన ఉద్యోగాన్ని ఎందుకు చేస్తున్నాడు అతడు? దానివల్ల రాత్రివేళల్లో విధులు నిర్వర్తించాల్సి ఉంటుంది, late night shifts చేయాల్సి ఉంటుంది.)
